Well, I'm so excited to be giving ya'll a little peek at some new a la modes from My Favorite Things! I've got this one today and another one coming your way tomorrow. I can't even decide which one I like better--no, I just can't pick. I was going to try just for y'all, but no. I can't. This one is called Candy Cane Kisses. When I first saw this little set, I knew exactly what I wanted to make--this little treat (glassine) bag with some peppermints in it.
My original idea was to put straight candy canes in it, but when I went out to find them, these were .99 cents. And I was really hot. And I wanted to go home. Where would I find my exact ones this time of year anyway? I just wasn't worth the goose hunt, but I think it would still be cute.
Anyway, I stamped the little Candy Cane Kisses a la mode girl and cut her out. I used two Die-namics dies from My Favorite Things--the older Framed Greetings and I'm giving ya'll a super sneaky peek at the new Let it Snowflake die. It's FABULOUS and will be included in tomorrow night's VIP offer for this month, so stay tuned! I made a second little tag with the sentiment and backed it with some yummy red felt from the Banana Split collection and tied them both to the big Cream Cotton Twill bow I tied all the way around the treat bag. I love that stuff and it makes perfect bows! Note to self: Get more.Ok, there's more of this P.Y.T. (pretty young thing) to be seen! Check out Kim's blog for a list of all the other DT girls giving some fun sneak peeks today.
SUSIE Q-TIP: When cutting out an image for a tag or almost any other project, experiment with leaving a wider border around it, but still cutting in and out with each curve. I think it almost makes it look like a die cut, especially if your curves are extra smooth. Wouldn't we all like our curves to be extra smooth? Good luck with that.
