Well, here we are on Day 2 of Teasers from My Favorite Things. Did ya'll check them all out yesterday? Today the team is featuring three more sets. I'm using Wyatt the Conductor which will be available for purchase after the release party this Wednesday, September 1st. Having all girls and really never finding a need to do too many boy cards, I jumped at the opportunity to "challenge" myself to make one. This cute little Wyatt made it super easy! It comes with Wyatt, a little engine that could, a coal car and a caboose and several sentiments that work well for a little encouragement, even if they aren't a train enthusiast.
I drew in the lines on his shirt to give him a checkered shirt and also just had to write a tiny little number 9 on the side of the engine. I knew I had remembered "Engine Number 9" from somewhere, so I had to google it and it's an OLD Roger Miller song and I actually remember it from when I was little (I'm old, remember). Also a little tidbit--when I googled it, I found out he was born in Fort Worth! Anyway, enough of the reminiscing (ooh, remember his other song, King of the Road? I'm sure I'll be singing that one all day!). So I couldn't help myself and just had to embellish the inside of this card, too. I stamped the sentiment in triplicate to mimic "The Little Engine that Could" story from a long time ago. Well, be sure and head over to Kim's blog HERE again today to get a list of the "Teaser links" for all the girls posting today. I think YOU can, I think YOU can, I think YOU can!!
SUSIE Q-TIP: It's ok to "alter" a stamped image to give it a little character like I did here. It's no different that picking out colors to color it or deciding on what patterned paper to piece it with. That's what I call artistic license and a little imagination.
