SFYTT--I'm Lame {Again}

Well, here I am, pulling the lame-o card on ya'll again. I'm sorry but I won't have an SFYTT card for ya'll today for Jen's Sketch For You To Try. Eric has been in the hospital since Tuesday (they just figured out he has a lung infection), I've had a migraine for the last couple of days (it's now gone, finally) and I just couldn't muster the energy to get any stamping done last night after spending the day with him in Dallas and having our younger girls with us in the hospital room. It was a chore! They both almost ripped his IV from his port by nearly tripping over the tubing from his pump. Can you say OUCHieWAwa?? Then Audrie had the hiccups 4 seperate times while we were in the confines of his hospital room! It was getting more annoying than funny after the third go-round. Then she contracted them 2 more times last night. How does that happen? I tickled her a bunch and told her she must have forgotten how to breathe and of course that got her to laughing and another episode ensued, but that only accounts for one hiccup spell! Teehee.

Anyway, I can't post anything here without mentioning how amazed, astonished, overwhelmed, grateful, taken aback and completely humbled by the outpouring of love ya'll have shown since Sara and my friend Sheila hi-jacked my blog. (I'll be dealing with them later.) That in turn, has led to Verve, MFT and TCP having a big sale for Eric and our family (and SCS donating banner ad space to get the word out) this weekend. It's so overwhelming that I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around all of it. There really are no words, just tears of joy. Kelly Lunceford made a card that she showed on her blog a few days ago with a great sentiment that she printed off the computer and it represents my thoughts EXACTLY:

"I would thank you from the bottom of my heart, but for you, my heart has no bottom."

I love all of you and what this stamping community stands for--family.

Now quit your gushing and go check out what my other SFYTT sisters have come up with for this week's Sketch For You To Try! Then be sure and upload them to Jen's blog HERE for your chance to be chosen for next month's guest designer spot!

SUSIE Q-TIP: We had Chic-Fil-A for lunch yesterday. They have one in the hospital restaurant. I've learned a couple of lessons while at Chic-Fil-A over the years. It is a fact that the waffle fries there take LOTS more ketchup than normal. A mommy friend of mine showed me how to open 2-3 ketchup packets at one time. Who'da thunk? Try it. Ok now Jen taught me this one and I can't stop doing this--Pour out your waffle fries and sprinkle salt and pepper on them. THEN drizzle honey all over (you can open 2-3 of these at once also). It's YUMMY! Try it. Pay no attention to the odd stares and looks you get from other people. They do not know the power of waffle fries done up this way. That's ok--more honey for you!

  1. Even though I don't know you personally do know that I care and am praying for your family during this incredibly hard time. HUGS to your entire family!

  2. You are loved..plain and simple. Continued prayers. (Had to laugh at the hiccups though!)

  3. My prayers and best wishes are with you and your family. My dad battled peripheral t cell lymphoma a few years ago - and it's a very difficult time for everyone.

    Many hugs - and I've made a bit of donation via paypal.

  4. Waffle fries and honey...YUMMMMM-OOO!

  5. Hi Susan,

    Although we've never met, I have been following your blog for a little over a year now (because of your talent) and have grown to respect and admire you (because of your courage and heart) and wanted to let you know I ordered some Verve stamps last weekend because they totally rock for supporting you in such an amazing way and because at times like these, I think it must be really important to feel such a great outpouring from friends and strangers alike. I've been praying for Eric and for your entire family. You are NOT alone! - Shannon Ketchum

  6. Waffle fries with ketchup sounds darn good!

    HUGS Susie!
