MFT's Greatest Hits--Flopsey's Brewin' the Java

Well, it's Greatest Hits time from My Favorite Things. Yes, every month, a few of us on the design team pull out some of our "oldies" stamps and play with them for a change. It's really fun to pair up some old images with new "stuff" like ribbons, paper and buttons! This month's theme is to use our FLOPSEYS! I immediately grabbed for one of my favorites (I wonder why?), I Need Coffee Flopsey. I love this color combo and thought it would be a fun one for this card, especially with the two patterned papers I decided to use--so different, but I think they work! I also used some of my new crocheted ribbon from the Bakery Blend Collection. I think that may have been the first time I used it. What was I thinking to wait this long? Ugh.

There are a lot more Flopseys to see! So for your viewing pleasure, Kim has listed all the DT's links that have some Flopsey to share today over on HER BLOG. We hope you get to play with us. We'd love to see your Flopseys too! What? No Flopseys in your stash? Well have we got a deal for you! Kim is offering a discount on all the Flopseys for a limited time by using a code--FLOPSEY--at checkout. This FLOPSEY code is good for $3.00 off any Flopsey set! This code will only be valid Thursday June 10 and Friday June 11th, so hop on it fastly!

Eric Update: Last Friday, Eric and I were in Dallas all day getting his labwork, seeing the doctor and then his all-day chemo treatment, a more than generous dose of R-CHOP. So far he has handled it well, much better than his last round, and just feeling a little bit queasy. Over the course of his treatment, he has lost close to 45 pounds and that is not the greatest thing ever according to Dr. Maisel. So he's on a "whatever he wants to eat/can keep down" diet as he is looking a bit gaunt and just plain unhealthy. Hopefully he and his bloodwork will not look so malnourished next week! We saw the doctor again yesterday for another spinal tap (intrathecal chemo) and we got the news that last Friday's treatment was not the last one like we had hoped. After thinking about his case more, thinking back to about how we were going to aggressively treat it to begin with (but that didn't work out with that ugly Methotrexate ordeal), and how we had to back off a little and just go back to the R-CHOP regimen, Dr. Maisel decided Eric needs more chemo to make up the difference in order to still be aggressive and continue treating for a cure. Well, we are all for the word, "CURE"! The alternative is radiation therapy, but the long-term side effects are terrible, especially in the neck area where he'd have to have it. So we agreed to more chemo and his next round will be the Friday before the July 4th weekend. He's neutropenic right now and anemic which means his red and white blood cell counts are really low. We are going back on Tuesday for another blood test. If it's any lower, he will get another blood transfusion on that same day which will be done in the hospital and will take about 6 hours. He's a little down as he thought his chemo days were over and he was just starting to feel halfway human again! So he needs a little cheering up! However to be honest, I am glad he is getting a little more just to be on the safe side (not getting enough for his aggressive type of lymphoma after we had to back off a little bit was one of my worries!). Anyway, sorry it took me so long to update, there just wasn't much to tell other than losing weight, losing lunch and losing sleep (oh and losing more hair)! Thanks for the continued well wishes and happy thoughts!
