Well, I'm still riding the wave of the
Verve Release from last night. After I said goodnight on the
chat thread (ya'll have to go back and see all the amazing sample cards and projects the Divas created again!), I immediately went to work on this card for today's
Sketch For You To Try from the "famous"
Jen del Muro. It's a really fun and easy sketch that I didn't think I'd like at first, but I have to say, I think this one's a keeper! I will definitely be using it again soon.

Since my
Verve stuff was still out on my desk, a.k.a., it was getting late and I didn't have time (or the want) to color anything, I went for a sentiment from the
Feel the Sun set for my main image. The green flowery paper has been calling out my name and saying "use me!" for the last couple of days, so I finally gave in, marrying it with the very last of my Groovy Guava from SU! (I really liked that color, so if ya'll don't, send it to me!) and a little Ruby Red. Obviously not much planning went into this card ahead of time, so I just pulled things together as I went along. When it came time to add the little embellishment from the sketch (represented by the heart), I put my bucket o'flowers on my desk and when I saw these yellow felt flowers from Hobby Lobby, that was all she wrote. I then fell in love with this card. The little unlikely yellow flower made me swoon.

Hey guess what!?
We have some new SFYTT sisters to introduce! Ya'll will now have some more inspiration to draw from before you play in
Jen's Sketch For You To Try Challenge every Saturday. Added to the sisterhood are
Amber Hight, Jenn Dierks and Megan Lock. Isn't that exciting? Some fresh talent and lots of different styles! Check out what the other girls have made:

Awesome card, Susan! Yes, the yellow felt flower does make the card. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteah, yes...although all your other details and colours make this card...the yellow really makes it stand out. I LOVE this sentiment from the new release...AND I was the lucky VLV challenge winner last month so I get this WHOLE release!!! I even love the name of it "Feel the Sun." I get deprived of the warmth of the sun up here in Canada over the winter (although this winter has been very mild). LOVE your paper...oh, and here's a good tip to know...Papertrey Ink's Melon Berry is an almost exact match to Guava...I have both and literally couldn't tell the difference. (that made me happy too as I'm almost out of guava) have a wonderful weekend :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow. I *love* the card. You've got such an eye for putting together colors & papers. And the yellow accents just totally pop!
ReplyDeleteACK...you just make me "hrrumph" with your cards...my brain says, "I could never come up with something like that!" Love the unexpected color combo and flower too. You're amazing!
