A {Rulebreaker} Sketch For You To Try

Well, I know I'm a little late in getting this published, but my husband, Eric was on the computer paying bills. We decided to do that first this time and THEN have a little play money rather than the other way around. It's not near as fun, though. I hate being a grown-up. So here's my card for Jen's Sketch For You To Try today! I thought this sketch was going to be a dud for me, but turns out--I really liked it and see lots more possibilities with it! I know I could have jazzed this one up a lot more, but the simpleness to it is what I'm drawn to this time (even with it's naked buttons). I have to say, this card did cause me a couple of injuries. I really tried to not have those buttons naked for several of ya'll's sake. I did tie some twine through the extra black and brown ones, but really didn't like how it looked, so when I was cutting it off, I managed to stab my index finger with my Cutter Bee scissors (very sharp). Great, and thankfully no blood got on the card! My other injury has me a little more concerned. You see, I'm taking Cipro (also used to treat Anthrax--really) for an infection, and apparently, one of the side effects is "tearing" of the tendons. Well, I was trying to squeeze my glue out (playing roulette as to whether or not the lid would just pop off from the pressure-kinda fun), and my wrist just completely gave out. Torn tendon? Nah, but now I know that it really could happen! It just feels a little strained--I guess I'm a weakling! So it's too bad that now is not the time for me to start a heavy exercise regimen. Darn a monkey!

So, more about this card--Last night was Verve's newest release! Six sets and one Plain Jane. I had yet to play with this one, Wishing You , and decided it would look great in the main panel. It's a set that "works". The "Wishing You" is the main piece and then there are all sorts of "endings" that coordinate with it. I love that you can do this and stamp the different parts in different colors. And the font? Oh.My.Word. So cute!

I wanted to take a little space here to tell ya'll thanks so much for all the congratulatory wishes on my becoming "DIRTY"! I still can't believe it and I hope to make ya'll all proud! Speaking of dirty, it's about time for me to go and wash the car--it's filthy!! Much dirtier than I am.

Ok, so here's the deal. We want YA'LL to play in the Sketch For You To Try Challenges as well. All you have to do is make a card using Jen's Sketch that you can find HERE, upload it to Splitcoast using keyword SFYTT and then feel free to link it to her blog as well. We love to see ya'll's work and you never know when she may be in need of a Guest Designer (I bet she looks in that gallery first!). Here's a little more inspiration for ya to get your mojo a-go-go!:
