A {Stinky} Sketch For You To Try

Well, yesterday was a big day at the Liles household. Eric and Lindsie were off to work and school and Audrie and I hit the door running by 8:30. We went to a stamping garage sale (got a few things), went to Michael's (got a few more things), went and got Audrie's hair cut and we were home by 11:30. I've been having computer issues with my wireless signal and AT&T finally confirmed what I'd been thinking was the problem all along, sent me around the world through the phone lines, only to find out what I needed I HAD to order online from their store and then "all I have to do" is call billing and get reimbursed. Yeah right. How am I supposed to order something online when I can't GET online? So we hopped in the car again and went to Radio Shack and bought a new USB Wireless Adapter. It's all hooked up now, and works great. Only thing is, I'm out $45 that was supposed to go towards our Disney Christmas trip. Mickey and Minnie are NOT happy about it. That all left me without any time and busted my whole plan to make teacher gifts for Audrie's preschool graduation that was later that evening.

Anyway, after the day I had, last night's event of her graduating was just what I needed to realize all that didn't matter and I just soaked in every minute of the ceremony. Even the mayor was there and interviewed Audrie, asking her "what she learned in preschool". She said (loudly into the microphone), "Lots of stuff". It was a proud mommy moment! We came home, I went online (yay!) and went to the Verve Release Party (ya'll NEED to see the new stuff HERE), and got busy finishing up my card for today. That was the most jam packed day I've done in a long time! I really like Jen's Sketch For You To Try this week, and it was another perfect opportunity to share this stinky little guy from The Cat's Pajamas being released on the 29th. The right-hand edge of the sketch calls for you to do "something different", so I decided to run my sentiment along it beside a scalloped border. Oh and see the vine ribbon and buttons? TCP will be debuting these new swanky embellishments on the 29th, too. They coordinate perfectly with the new sets. I hope ya'll get a chance to play with this sketch--it's an easy one! Now, since I had such a big day yesterday, can I just chill today? We'll see. I've still got a big list of things to do. For now, I'll just sit here, "stinking" about how time just runs like water, and how big my babies are getting. It stinks.

Be sure and take a walk in the woods with lots of "pomp and circumstance" and hike on over to see what my other SFYTT sisters have cooked up. I'm sure they all make the dean's list.:

Amy S.
Kelly
Carole (speaking of stinking and "runs"--beware)
Also, Julie Lacey has another fabulous sample on Jen's blog HERE.

SUSIE Q-TIP: I hope you can see my little "Just sitting here stinking" sentiment running repeatedly up the right side of my card. It was sort of an afterthought. The brown "wood" designer paper had already been glued down to the yellow. In order to not get part of the sentiment on the yellow edge, I took a scrap piece of paper and put a little repositionable adhesive on it, stuck it down over the yellow and onto my desk so it wouldn't move. Then I stamped the sentiment right onto it. Sort of like masking. Now it looks like I planned it to be there all along! When making a repeated sentiment like this, don't forget to start in the middle for even spacing and work your way out to the sides.

Stamps: Happy Camper (The Cat's Pajamas)
Paper: So Saffron, Chocolate Chip (SU!), White (PTI), Mr. Campy (Cosmo Cricket)
Ink: Palette Noir (Superior)
Accessories: Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Cuttlebug, Threading Water Border Punch (Fiskars), Paper Piercer/Mat Pack, Sewing Machine, Brown Thread, Copic Markers, Great Outdoors Vine Ribbon and Buttons (TCP), Glue Dots, Jody Boosters

  9. OMG, this card is TOO CUTE FOR WORDS! I can't wait for the release! You have me practically salivating (in a good way!).

Those graduating kiddies are so cute. My mom got really mad at me (more embarrassed, really) at my Kindergarten graduation, because all the other kids before me got their "diploma" and then went to their seats. Well I was so excited when I got mine that I ran off the stage into the audience to give mine to my parents. Every kid after me proceeded to do the same. I think my mom wanted to just die! ;)
