SUINKWWC19 ~ I Stamped a Little Love, Baby!

Well, if ya'll remember, I promised a post about a few quick, inexpensive last minute gift ideas. I have one for you today and I will be working on another post this evening for tomorrow, so you can plan to make some of my ideas over the weekend! This one today is for Storage Units, Ink and More's Whatchadoin' Wednesday Challenge. This time, Mary-Jo challenged us to make a card into some sort of "gift-holder" (HERE'S the specifics). I know, I know, I'm late for it, but I had some school stuff for Lindsie come up that I couldn't help but re-prioritize my time this week on. However, it totally worked out, in sticking with my theme of quick and inexpensive as this took literally ten minutes to make!
First, I took out my handy dandy Scor-Pal and then followed the 8x8 Gift Card Holder directions from Cambria Turnbow's blog, Stamp a Little Love, Baby! I seriously did this while in front of my computer in my dining/kitchen area! I then went back to my "creation station" and completed it with the cute little snowy cottage from SUINK's set, Deer Ol' Santa (I think it's my favorite so far from SUINK!), a Nestabilities die, some ribbon and a couple of punches. 10 MINUTES to DONE!! I love the tattered look of it with the frayed ribbon ends and sponging.
The whole Gift card holder is actually just folded and tucked to retain its shape--no glueing necessary! Reminds me of junior high when it was cool to fold your secret notes to your BFF's and tuck the ends in a certain way to make them so small and you had to "open" them like little presents. I was cool like that.

On another note, a friend of mine, Andrea Vernagus from Crafty Engineering (who calls me a Stamping Idol--not sure about that one, but anyway) is trying to help a friend whose baby is going through some pretty rough times. She is asking for some RAK's and at the same time is giving away some pretty sweet "Blog Candy for a Cause". Read all about it and the particulars----> HERE and join me in saying some prayers for baby Francesca for me.

SUSIE Q-TIP: When stringing ribbon under a layer on a card, be sure and take note of where to place your dimensionals. If the dimensional gets adhered to the ribbon and the card layer (or focal layer in this case), it may make your layer sit unevenly. It's also a plus in case you need to take it off and re-position it---your ribbon remains clean.

Stamps: Deer Ol' Santa (Storage Units, Ink and More)
Paper: Basic Black (SU!), Papertrey White, Little Girls Biography (Cosmo Cricket)
Ink: Creamy Caramel (SU!), Palette Noir (Superior)
Accessories: Horizontal Slot Punch, Scor-Pal, Scallop Rectangle Nestabilities, Cuttlebug, Dimensionals, Copic Markers, Stardust Stickles (Ranger), Black/White Wide Gingham Ribbon (Michael's), File Tab Punch, Sponges, Black Brad
