I'm the Cat's Meeeeeeeeee--OWW!!---Part Two

Well, if you'll remember, last week was my big announcement that Alma had chosen me to be the December Special Guest Designer for The Cat's Pajamas. Here's the rest of my projects I made for that special honor! The first one is my favorite. I had seen my friend, Lauren "alter" some similar little maze game toys for party favors for her son, Noah. They were so cute!
So when I came across a pack of 6 for a dollar at WalMart, I HAD to try it out! I decided to make a fun interactive card and I love how it plays off the sentiment so well (kind of opposite-ish which makes it fun and unexpected). Grownups can still play with toys, right? So I peeled off the backing, traced it and stamped Sprinkle holding the present on some white cardstock and then attached the "new back" using a thin bead of Crystal Effects. I then matted it and attached it to my card as the main panel. Easy! By the way, although I think K & Company is one of my ALL-TIME favorite paper lines, this polka dot black and white from Heidi Swapp is to die for! It's called Runway Dots--how fun is that?
This next card was also fun to make. You may be wondering why the browns and reds, especially for the presents which are actually from the birthday set, You Say It's Your Birthday. I tend to be influenced and inspired by songs and while I was making this card, I had that song from the Sound of Music stuck in my head....'Brown paper packages, tied up with strings--These are a few of my favorite things'... There. Now it will be stuck in your head too! Anyway, I really love how it came out and I think one of my new favorite color combos is reds and browns together (as you can also see from my previous post!). I really enjoyed being the Guest Designer for The Cat's Pajamas. The stamps are EXTREMELY fun to work with and every time I use them, I think of one of my first "blogging friends", Sharon N. and how she sent me some images of these retro "cat" stamps I had never heard of before and "challenged" me to fit them into my style. Ha, and look at me now. Who'da thunk? (thanks, Sharon.) You will definitely be seeing more TCP in my future! They are "go-to's" for sure!
