Birthday Party Land

Well, it seems like just about every weekend here lately, we've either had our own birthday party to celebrate (Audrie's and Eric's last month), or either one of the girls or both have been invited to this or that birthday party for their friends, and actually we will be having a birthday party for Lindsie next weekend! Who planned it this way? Anyway, I just thought I'd show ya'll a quickie little card I made for one little boy who goes to Audrie's preschool. I will qualify this post by saying I hardly ever make cards for kids anymore for little birthday parties, or at least I don't spend much time on them IF I make one. I had a bad bad BAD experience---I made a perfecto amazing card for a little girl several years ago, only for her to tear it apart right in front of my eyes as she opened her gift. It was not an accident, either. I was scarred for life. That being said, Audrie INSISTED that Robert have a card in his gift made by me, so this is what I came up with in 10 minutes time! I used all scraps, no stamps, and a couple of free stickers that came in the mail some time ago. Do ya'll get those and they want you to buy the books or magazines they're selling? Thank you, drive through! Take the stickers out and throw the rest away! The little dog was made with my cuttlebug. I don't use that die very often, but I think he's too cute! Or should I say "2 cute"!?

TIP: Do NOT spend a lot of time on cards for children under the age of 10. Just my personal opinion/experience speaking here. It has made me very fragile and vulnerable. I'm just sayin'...don't let this happen to you.

Stamps: None
Paper: Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Very Vanilla (SU!), Dots (Paper Studio)
Ink: None
Accessories: Cuttlebug, Doggy Die, Stapler, Orange Grosgrain Ribbon, HB Stickers, Letter Stickers, Chocolate Chip Marker

  5. so true...I make a pretty tag or card and they look at it and then it's in the trash. I am saddened by how much work it takes as well as your time and creativity juices to make something special and it doesn't even fade them. thank goodness it's not only me =) cute card btw...love that dog too! TFS!

  7. This is totally adorable, and I TOTALLY agree about sending kids cards that take WAY less time than most...or are store bought. I sent one once (to a relative), nothing was ever said about it so I asked if they even received it. "Oh yes, so-and-so (the little sister) tore it apart." And the mom was upset with ME because it was a shaker card and made a mess!!!! UGH!!! lol
