Whatchadoin' Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday! It's the middle of the week already!! I just can't get over how fast the days are flying by here lately! Don't we get to "fall back" later on this week? That will be nice. I'll probably get back into my "staying up much later" schedule making stuff. For the last couple of weeks, my eyes have been automatically shutting around 10:30 every night (on the couch). I'm like one of those baby dolls that their eyes automatically shut when you lay them in a sleeping position. That's me. If that's you, too, but you still need to come up with some ULTRA quick Halloween treats, I've got just the thing for you! This week's Whatchadoin' Wednesday Challenge is to make any sort of sweet treat holder. I know the socks are pushing it, but sometimes feet are "sweet", right?
I was going for super simple, as I am still in need of a few little goodies myself. My neighbor had given me several pairs of Halloween socks still in the package, so who could resist a "Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet" sentiment!? I just made a little band, stamped part of the sentiment (the rest is handwritten), and stamped the spiders (from two different SUINK sets, The Witching Hour and Bump in the Night) and called it done! The other little treat holder uses some extra mini paper bags I had picked up a few years ago at Michael's, but I'm pretty sure they are still available. They measure 2.5 X 4" and are so cute!! A simple little scalloped "medallion" again using The Witching Hour and some ribbon stapled around it took absolutely no time to make! I think this is what I'll be going with for Audrie's preschool class. Super cheap, too!! We'd love to see your last minute Halloween treat (or any other kind of treat) gifty ideas as well! Just use keyword SUINKWWC11 this time when uploading to Splitcoast. Come on, we don't want any tricks, just show us the TREATS and no one will get hurt (or have to smell my feet--they actually don't stink.)

TIP: I used Provo's Terrifically Tacky Tape to adhere the ends of the band around the socks. I keep a separate pair of scissors for cutting that stuff or anything sticky. They get SO gunky! Then an occasional cleaning with GooGone does the trick to freshen them up. This way, your other paper and ribbon scissors (again separate for separate uses) stay clean.

  1. These are great. I love the simplicity of them, allows to get so much more done. I agree the days are just flying by seems like we are skipping right over fall and moving right on to Christmas. YIKES. I swear the kids just went back to school a week ago, lol. Great job on the challenge.
