An {Old School} Sketch For You To Try

Happy World Cardmaking Day!! I have yet to create anything today, but I have good reasons as to why. My dear friend, Amy, who played a HUGE role in getting me started in all this stamping stuff decided she was cleaning house and getting rid of a TON of her stamping supplies from her old demo days. She had a craft garage sale this morning of which I partook!! My mom and my sister, Nancy, and I headed over there bright and early and by the time we left, Amy was almost cleaned out not only from us, but also from all the shoppers she had! We even ended up helping her ring up customers she was so busy!! I came away with several packs of unopened cardstock, an extra stampin' scrub, a punch, the Star of Wonder stamp set from SU! (2003) and some extra sponges that I have needed for a while now-I only have 2, all for about $35!! What a deal!! So after that, we toured a friend of my mom's home he's building (only a mere $562,000) that included it's own wine room fully cooled to whatever temperature wine has to be cooled to and then we went off to breakfast and met up with Nancy's fiance at a fun new place called "Rise and Dine" which serves up country style morning grub with the ever so southern grits and butter on the side. I only had a little taste of them and I think I still have a grit or two in my mouth somewhere wandering around. What is their purpose? But then again, I have a "thing" with texture foods. Take Jell-O for example; once you put it in your mouth, what do you do with it? Ok, there's your food for thought. On with today's Sketch For You To Try from my friend, Jen who went to the Austin shoebox swap with Jody (texasjodylynn) without me, but I'm not bitter. LOL!! I used the newly released Reading Flopsey from My Favorite Things and decided to kick it "old school"! I love these new brads I got at Michael's. They are a little bigger, antique brass and flat headed--just a different look! Check out the other girls cards---Shannan, Carole, Amy S. and Amy R.. Oh and we have a new Guest Designer, Nancy Riley for the month of October to play along with us! I'm off to get ready to go to a wedding this afternoon! Sadly, no stamping for me today. :(

Don't forget to enter to win my World Cardmaking Day Blog Candy from THIS POST!!

TIP: I am a bad stamper and hardly ever wash my stampin' scrub pads because I am always needing it to be at my desk and don't have a chance to wash it or forget to in between stamping sessions. (You know you take them out of the black holder and put them in the top rack of the dishwasher and they come out nice and clean.) However, now that I have two of them, I will (should) always have a clean one on hand. Get you a second one for this purpose, too.

  12. You are such a creative woman! I love checking out your blog daily. Could you share where you got the ruler twill from? It's so adorable!

  13. Love this one!!, about textured foods....what you do with Jello is simple...bounce it around your mouth, squeeze it between your teeth and then gargle with it....this is what my sister and I used to do with it and I believe I have seen one of the "grands" do much the same thing.
