Giving Thanks

As I was making this card last night, I had the old "activism and protest" song called Indian Reservation sung by Paul Revere and the Raiders stuck in my head....'Cherokee people, Cherokee tribe..So proud to live, so proud to diiiiieeeeeeeee!' Well, the song was from back in 1971, but I had it on a "45" when I was 8, about 4 years later. I was cool. Anyway, little Miss Pocahontas has on her best squaw dress to receive her guests and offer them her fresh picked corn. The image is from the Giving Thanks set from Storage Units, Ink and More and I colored her with my Prismacolor Pencils (no blending this time) and highlighted her with a light blue Copic marker. The colors are a little non-traditional for Thanksgiving, but then again, I have pink pumpkins with orange polkadots on my blog banner. So there.

TIP: The red rhinestone was found in my dryer lint-catcher thing, apparently a casualty from a piece of clothing belonging to one of my girls. Save these and use them on your cards and creations. It's a rule. (Hi, Jody!) See statute 489, sec. 121.4684616 of the "no rhinestone left behind policy".

Stamps: Giving Thanks (Storage Units, Ink and More)
Paper: Very Vanilla, Real Red (SU!), Montego Bay (Core'dinations), Poppy-Beach Grass (s.e.i.)
Ink: Palette Noir (Superior)
Accessories: Paper Piercer/Mat Pack, 1 3/8 Circle Punch, 1 1/2 Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Red/White Check Ribbon (Michael's), Prismacolor Pencils, Copic Markers, Brides Flower (Cream--Michael's), Red Rhinestone (unknown), Corner Rounder
