A {Bah! Humbug!} Sketch For You To Try

Bah! Humbug? Nope, that's not me--EVER! I love Christmas and everything that goes along with it, give or take a few degrees of heat that I would appreciate keeping (I'm not a coldy cold person--Texan, remember?). I even love when the Christmas songs start playing on the radio right after Thanksgiving, and I DO listen all month long. I even go so far as to fill up my 6-disc CD changer in the car to everything from "An Elvis Christmas to Harry Connick, Jr. (Harry for the Holidays--makes me giggle, so I had to write it), to Alvin and the Chipmunks! Decorating the house is an all out, at least 2-day event, as I have about 10 20-gallon tubs full of Christmas decor up in the attic, not counting the humongous tree we acquired a few years ago. (Eric loves bringing all of them down for me, too, I just know it.) So when this card began to take shape, I was thinking of my husband, Eric and how much he is the total opposite of me in these areas. He will literally walk out of the room if Christmas music is being played "too far in advance". He puts up with me and all my decorating frenzy that starts the day after Thanksgiving, but would just as soon have just a Christmas tree, and use only the other small one we have and leave it at that! (shhhhh....don't tell him I plan on putting up BOTH this year!) He truly IS Mr. Bah! Humbug! up until about 2 weeks before Christmas! THEN it's ok to go through all the motions of the season. Well, by then, I've got tons of other stuff to do, Mister!! Anyway, so there's the inspiration, now on to the nuts and bolts of the card for this Saturday's version of Jen's Sketch For You To Try. The circles had me baffled for a bit, but when I saw this Skiing Snow Globe image from The Cat's Pajamas (I've forgotten who sent it to me way back when. Sharon, was it you?), I thought it would look whimsical in the scalloped circle center. I put frost on the clear snowflake, the snow in the globe and on the red snowflakes I cut out with my Cuttlebug die, using some glitter glue that is super sparkly. The sentiment is from the current Clearly Swanky set, Poochie Christmas that I just love! The silver cording had a mind of it's own and kind of "landed" that way on the card as I was holding it, so I said, "Bah! Humbug!", and decided to go with it, along with the random snowflake and silver brad. I mean, it IS a Bah! Humbug! card, right? It shouldn't matter anyway! I'll give it to Eric next week and tell him that Hobby Lobby has all their Halloween/Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff out for sale AT THE SAME TIME, right now! I won't make him go with me. He might just puke.

Be sure and check out all the other chicas' cards for this week's sketch as well as make your own, using keyword SFYTT on Splitcoast so we can see what you've done! Here they are: Shannan, Carole, Amy R., Amy S. and Nancy Riley has a great card on Jen's blog as well!
