A {Birthday Girl} Sketch For You To Try

I know, I know, here I am…late again!! It’s totally my fault as to why this is such a late post for Jen’s Sketch For You To Try. I totally ran out of time yesterday and then went to a scrapbooking crop last night from 6-midnight and was too tired to come up with a card at that hour. No, wait. A. minute. This is NOT my fault!! It all started Thursday….I spent several hours cleaning the kitchen (it wasn’t THAT dirty, but it just needed a thorough scrubbing). The counters, appliances, floor, pantry door that was totally sticky from marshmallowey little hands, the canisters, toaster and coffee pot all needed a good wipe down. You know how it is—you just have to buckle down and do it every once in a while. Part of the reason I wanted to do all that on Thursday, was so that I wouldn’t have to touch it on Friday, when I usually get a lot of stamping done, including my SFYTT. So Eric got home about 11:30 that night. (I was working on something in my studio at the time.) I heard him rattling around in the kitchen, but just thought he was grabbing something to eat. THEN, he came in and “proudly” told me that since it was trash day the next day, he did me a HUGE favor and cleaned out the refrigerator in order to get rid of all that stuff growing in there. He said he had to leave all the pots and pans in the sink and on my beautiful countertops because it was just too late and he needed to go to bed and could not wash them. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Ummm….thanks, honey!!! So there. Since I had to REDO the kitchen, it totally cut short my stamping time yesterday, not to mention the fact Jen and I had to go to Starbuck’s, I had to go to the grocery store, and get an early start on dinner as I could not miss a rare opportunity to go to a latenight scrapbooking workshop. So I had to make it this morning. Is that legitimate enough? Who knows, but that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it. Blame it on the man.

Now for an apology as to why this card is so off the hook busy!! I don’t have one. It just kept wanting more, more, more. Not to sure of the outcome. I do LOVE the actual stamped elements on it, though. It’s another new set from Storage Units, Ink and More that debuted August 1st called It's My Party. I think the cupcake is very cute and I almost lost it in the cardmaking process. It was stuck to the bottom on Lindsie’s foot the whole time! (Don’t worry, I washed it.) Anyway, I’m sure you’ve already seen them, but in case you haven’t, check out the other sketch girls’ samples: Carole (who is now a proud DT member for CHF—yay!), Shannan, Amy R., and Amy S. Remember: keyword SFYTT when you upload to Splitcoast.

TIP: Make sure your husband stays out of the kitchen the day before trash day, especially if you’ve just cleaned it to the nines. He WILL throw away your science experiments you have going in the fridge and leave a messy trail.
