A {Beachy} Sketch For You To Try

Hi everybody!! I hope ya'll had a rockin' Fourth of July!! We grilled out back yesterday and then Eric managed to get off work in time to eat dinner and take us all to go catch a local fireworks show in Haltom City. We were stuck in a line, trying to figure out where to park, when a Police Officer directing traffic finally opened up another row. So, like little ants, we made a new trail and followed the car in front of us, pulling in right beside it. We got all our chairs out and settled and after a few minutes, I finally took a look at our surrounding "neighbors" and to my absolute surprise, we had parked right next to an VERY dear friend of mine and her mom whom I had not seen or talked to in forever!!! We were screaming! It was quite the reunion! So Teri, if you are checking out my blog today--HI!!! We just had the best time. So there's my little story, now onto why we are here today! It's Saturday, so Jen's Sketch For You To Try is upon us. I got a little package in the mail from Kim Hughes last week of this ca-ute Summer Fun stamp set from Cornish Heritage Farms and I just HAD to use it for this card today! I did flip the sketch and move the sentiment part up a little bit to accomodate my main panel (oopsie!). But I love how it turned out!
I also did a little masking on the flip flops for the tree and lotion bottle. I colored (again) with my Prismacolor Pencils and OMS--it's so EASY! OH and the torn paper is some more of the Core'dinations from Storage Units, Ink and More. I did a little tearing to show the colored core. It's a really light shade of blue. I added a few stickles to it and did some wonky (on purpose) paper piercing. It reminded me of how unstable I feel walking in sand! That's the kind of trail I'd make! So I really hope you decide to play with this sketch today and upload it to SCS using keyword SFYTT so we can pick them out of the crowd. Be sure and check out Shannan, Amy and Carole's blogs to see what they did with it. OH, (I haven't had my coffee yet, so I keep forgetting to say stuff) and Jen's new guest designer for the month is none other than one of my favorite new peeps--Jessie Rone (knightrone). She has a wonderful card spotlighted on Jen's blog, too!

TIP: Don't use a piercing template when you pierce for a more casual, scruffy look.
