Sunday's Featured Stamper Challenge

I usually don't do much blogging on Sunday, but I just could not wait to show ya'll what I did with the new Get Your Goggles On set from Storage Units Ink and More (don't forget, it will be available July 1st-only 2 more days)! I kept thinking about wanting to put the girl in the little playpool (that you had not seen yet, so it's kind of like another sneaky peeky!). I was going to mask her, but it just got to be too time consuming and a little challenging (probably just because I couldn't wrap my brain around how I was going to do it--ya'll might have no problem with this--41, remember?), so I decided to just stamp her and cut her top half out (and off!) and just glue her into the pool! I think it totally worked and turned out exactly like I had planned (I love it when that happens)! I made this for the Featured Stamper Challenge over on SCS, who happens this week to be Michele (chelemom)--Hi Michele!! She has a wonderful gallery and I chose to case THIS CARD of hers. She also has a fun blog--Thoughts of a Cardmaking Scrapbooker. Go see her and tell her I sent you!!!

So back to the card, I didn't distress mine as much as Michele did hers, but remember when I told you about this Core'dinations cardstock? It has a colored core, a shade lighter than the outside of the paper. So on this card, I sanded it with sandpaper along the edges of the blue and the orange parts. I am loving that look! The more you sand it, the more distressed it gets!! So needless to say, I don't think this will be the last time I decide to play in the Featured Stamper Challenge--it was fun (out of the sun!)!

TIP: For instant shadowing and shading, cut out your main image and pop it up on dimensionals. (See the little shadow under the playpool?)
