A {You're Amazing} Sketch For You To Try

Oh my! The last couple of days have just flown by and when Jen called yesterday and told me she was working on her Sketch For You To Try sample, I said, "oh, yeah, that!" and immediately got busy! I looked and looked at the sketch and could not come up with a thing! This card really got me! Either that, or my mojo got all spent in the last couple of days, with me pounding out one thing after another! So I hope you like this card anyway. The picture does not do the colors justice--it really does blend better in real life! The strip on the left side was difficult for me to decide on. I had a black one, a black and teal one, a just teal one and this one. I liked it best, as the others seemed to make that side a little "heavy on the eye". This one balanced the white ribbon a bit better. Do you think about that kind of stuff when you create? What do you think? It's sure sparkly in person as well. The polka dot paper is glittery (it came like that!), the teal paper is shimmery and I just had to add Stardust Stickles to the flower and butterfly. I'm really not a "butterfly" person, but here lately, I sure have enjoyed making cards that feature them and fluffing their wings up for a little 3-D action! You are SURE to see more in the near future, trust me! I chose this set, Thankful Blossoms from Verve Visual because I just got it and had yet to play with it--SUPER FUN!!! (It's back in stock now!) I chose the sentiment from the same set because I LOVE it--the words themselves and the scripty font, too! I'd love to have it for my computer! Wouldn't it make beautiful invitations? Be sure and go see what kind of mojo Carole, Amy and Shannan have going on for their samples, too!

Just to let ya'll know...I sure am grateful for all your comments and sweet words you leave me on this blog and on SCS. I read each and every one--You're ALL Amazing!!! I hope all of you have a Happy Mother's Day!!

TIP: When attaching ribbon to cardstock using a brad (like above), place the ribbon where you want it and pierce through all thicknesses with a Paper Piercer and Mat Pack. Hold it steady, and remove the piercer, being careful not to move the ribbon and cardstock. Insert your brad through the same hole before lifting it all off the Mat Pack. SO MUCH easier, and the ribbon will not get so snagged!

Stamps: Thankful Blossoms (Verve Visual)

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black (Tsukineko)
