My Submissions for the My Favorite Things Guest Designer Challenge

I had so much fun making the BBQ Grillmaster Apron card, that I thought I would make another one! This one is actually my entry #2 for the My Favorite Things Guest Designer Challenge over at SCS. Read on for entry #1 only with the Fair Warning: It's only CANDY! The winner receives all of the new releases coming out in June before everyone else gets them and gets to contribute to the MFTeasers to give everyone a taste of what's to come! For this one, it's just another cut out apron, sponged and zigzag stitched around the edges. While it is a "working pocket" card, I chose to just put the flowers and bunnies in there instead! My oldest daughter (16), had to dress up at preschool for what they wanted to be when they grew up back when she was 3. She wanted to be a florist, so I made her the cutest little apron with fake flowers and such coming out of the pockets. This card reminds me of it so much! It's going to be a fun Mother's Day card! The bunnies and flowers were all handcut and are not removable, but are only attached at their lowest points for a little 3-D effect. It's just a flat card and you could write on the back and send it that way.
Ok, don't say I didn't warn you---here's my first submission. It's entitled, "Doggy Duty Tool". Yep, I think I'm the only one on the face of the planet to ever embellish a pooper scooper! That's a hard-core crafter for ya! First off---Don't be alarmed! It's just a chocolate covered caramel CANDY (used for effect, you know?)!! I know it's with the new sets, but I just couldn't stop myself when I came up with this idea!! (I told ya'll I was going to Petco today for inspiration!) It's really just a cookie spatula (and will return to being one shortly after I lick the caramel and chocolate off of it)! I got it at Dollar Tree (it's actually not a bad little tool!) and I just added a tag I made to denote it's "purpose". I love the play on words with the "Duty" as well!! teehee!! I'm sorry, I'm a sicko. If you haven't already entered your submission, it's too late this go 'round, but check back next month (June) for the July contest! It's fun!! CLICK HERE to see all the submissions! Wish me luck, as they announce the big winner HERE on Saturday!!

TIP: I actually went to Petco for inspiration! I NEVER go there! Try "seeing" outside the box and look at EVERYTHING and think of the possibilities. You could be hit by the inspiration bug anywhere!! I even wrote ideas on the back of some packaging of an item I was buying at Target!
