A {Chichiboulie} Sketch For You To Try

Happy Saturday! Today, we have a special feature for you for Jen's A Sketch For You To Try. We are ALL (Shannan, Carole, Amy, Jen, and her Guest Designer, Toni) using a Bella in some form or fashion. I chose a Chichiboulie since she had not seen ink yet and I was dying to color her (remember the days when I used to not like to color in images? Ha!! Gone!)! However, this one is my fourth try without messing it up! I'm building my Copic stash little by little, marker by marker from Hobby Lobby each time I go. I'm pretty limited on my color choices right now, but I just wanted to see if I could pull something together using them alone (rather than mixing them in with my Prismacolor Markers. Not that it can't be done; I do it all the time, it was just a personal challenge for me!), therefore the weird color combo! I'm pretty happy with my results! I used a blender pen to take some of the color away, to give her even more highlights. The sentiment is from Verve Visual's Thoughtful Florals. It's meant to be used with SU's Word Window Punch. See how fun it is!?! I also used the new Floral Whimsy flowers to create some background on the Old Olive piece. They're stamped in Versamark and highlighted with my Stardust Gelly Roll Pen along with her wings, dots and the butterflies. I'm still learning to work with the Copics, but I think this is my personal best so far! (I wish you could see it in person!) Coloring Rocks!! The girls and I would love for you to try this Sketch For You To Try! All you need to do is use SFYTT as your SCS keywords so we can see them all together! You don't have to use a Bella, just follow the easy sketch (reminds me of follow the bouncing ball! ok, yeah, 41, remember?). Click on the names of all the "sistahs" above to see more bellas being used for this sketch! (Yes, I'm too lazy to link them again down here.) I just realized my card today matches my blog banner!! Speaking of that, check out my sister, Sara's blog, Tweaks and Designs by Sara to see what she's been creating!! She rocks, too!

TIP: If using strips or scraps up to an edge of your card, fold it over the edge, wrapping it under the base for a cleaner look.

  5. Your coloring is gorgeous, Sus -- and I LOVE the color combo! Necessity is the mother of invention, and all that good stuff! (And yes, I remember 'follow the bouncing ball'! 38 -- almost 39!) And I'm impressed that you start over when you don't like how you've colored. Anymore, I try to follow Tim Gunn's advice at all costs and MAKE IT WORK!!! : )
