A {Smile, It's SU!} Sketch For You To Try

Happy Saturday, y'all!! This week I thought I'd try something different for a change for Jen's Sketch For You To Try! What say I get back to my roots and use an actual Stampin' Up stamp set, eh? So I've had "True Friend" for a while, but had only used the sentiments from it and heard the flowers yelling out to be loved! I picked a color scheme that Jen and I had talked about on the phone a few days ago (see her fun card HERE using the same colors--I LOVE them!) and went to town. It was a fairly simple sketch and a departure from the "circle theme" she's had for the last month, but I found myself really wanting to put a scallop circle on it anyway with the "smile" sentiment on it instead of just stamping it down in that corner (maybe I'll do another like that and also sponge all edges for a different look?) I also challenged myself by not allowing any designer paper...yikes! But as a result, I think I pulled it off as a simple, clean and sweet card! Take a look at what the other girls cooked up for this sketch--Shannan, Carole, and Amy. OH and Jen's new guest designer for April has a sample as well on Jen's blog. Proudly introducing Sarah Green of My Scrapbook Table! She's going to be one to watch--great stuff! We'd love to have you join us in playing with this week's sketch! Upload it to SCS with SFYTT as your keyword so we can check out what you've created!
Sorry for the short post today--lots going on! We are painting our dining room and kitchen area today and I have a birthday party to take the girls to, plus a lot of laundry. ugh. Hopefully I will get to stamp a little bit!! Wish me LUCK!!

TIP: Mark your piercing template from your SU Mat Pack in the center on the small hole side with a Sharpie marker. It will help you center and line up edges with ease. (I did this to help me find the center of the 3 brad area of this card)

Stamps: True Friend (SU!), Pretty Pattern (Cornish Heritage Farms), Papertray (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Purely Pomegranate, Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery
Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Other: Paper Piercer/Mat Pack, Ticket Corner Punch, Brads, Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals
