smARTworks Wednesday

Today's card was made for our every-other-Wednesday-challenge for smARTworks. Our hostess for the challenge this time was Trish and she came up with an inspiration challenge using this picture as the source.

As I love the colors of the artwork, I had this Lilacs Stamp Set sitting on my desk and I wanted to use it for the first time. So instead of drawing off the colors, I tried out the layout idea (somewhat) and went from there. There's lots of sparkle to the lilacs here with my Spica Clear Glitter Pen. The purple paper is also shimmery, but I don't think that was picked up in the photo. I wasn't too sure about this color combo, but in the end, I think it works! The baubles are some more of the little plastic ones in the floral dept. of Michaels. They come in a bag of 15 gazillion, which by the way, are on clearance right now in lots of colors for only $2 for a bag that will last a lifetime! You can't beat that! Take a look at the other design team members crafty ideas for this challenge: Heidi, Dina, Trish, and Donna
They all look good! I have a lot to show you pretty soon, so keep it right here!

TIP: Layer your Prima flowers for extra dimension.

Stamps: Lilac Blessing (smARTworks)
Ink: Orchid Opulence, Lovely Lilac, Pale Plum, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, Stazon Timber Brown
Paper: Soft Sky, Whisper White, Shimmery Purple (unknown), DP by Deja Views
Other: Nestabilities, Cuttlebug, Prima Flowers, Michael's Baubles, Purple/White Gingham Ribbon, Dimensionals, Blender Pen, Spica Clear Glitter Pen

  3. Similar, but different... Changing the color scheme, but keeping the genreal layout is a nice twist, and it's nice to see lilacs even if it's only on a card. Nice job.
