The Business of Busyness

It's been a super busy week this week for some reason and it's just simply gotten away from me! After going to Jen's and helping her straighten and reorganize her stamping studio, I decided it was time for me to do a little of the same, so I've been doing that for the last couple of days. The next couple of days will be consumed with getting ready for the Arlington Stamp Day coming up this Saturday. I've got to make 45 card kits in the next 2 days! Yikes! It's going to be great seeing some old stamping buddies (Kendra, Carole, Shannan, Kristi, Sharon, Emily and of course Jen will be there as well many others I am looking forward to seeing again) and meeting new ones that I've only known through cyber-space like Jody, Kim the MFT Lady, Alma the Cat's Pajamas Lady, Cammie, Jessie...Oh, lots of "heavy hitters" that I am so thankful to have the privilege of meeting! As promised, though, here are a couple of the things I made for the baby shower I hosted here at the house this past Saturday. By the way, I just want to say thank you to all of you who sent me well wishes for the new mommy to be, the baby on the way and the shower itself. It was a packed house with about 25 people here (my house is only about 1400 sq. ft.!). I am loving the new Home and Heart special issue magazine from PaperCrafts. In it are several baby shower ideas and one of these diaper cakes was featured. I thought, 'I can do that'!! So I made this one! After checking a couple of websites confirming how I thought it was made and combining instructions to make it super easy (the magazine does not give much instruction), I put it together in about 2 1/2 hours. I am now going to start taking orders to make these for my friends who need baby shower gifts as it was a HUGE hit at the party! And yes, they are actual disposable diapers opened and rolled up tight and secured with rubber bands. Do ya'll want directions for this? Let me know.
This other little gifty is a box I already had. I created an insert inside it with 4 holes to house little baby socks all rolled up like flowers and decorated the outside. Not my favorite, but very cute--it was an afterthought!! Don't you just love those itty bitty things? Anyway, I love entertaining at my house, especially when I get to inject some papercrafting and stamping into it!!
Which reminds me....I never did post pictures of Audrie's princess tea party did I? Maybe soon, my friends....
Listen, I probably won't be able to post tomorrow or Friday, but I will still be doing Jen's Sketch For You To Try on Saturday even though we will all be stamping from dawn to dusk!! (She wouldn't let us off the hook!---Thank goodness for blogger in draft--hopefully it will work!) Oh, I'm going to be so sore on Sunday!

TIP: Jump Rings! The ones for making jewelry are a new must have for me! Now I can put little dangly things or charms attached to ribbon on my cards! That's what I used on the cake to attach the letters to each other.
