Sweet and Simple

I sure do appreciate everyone's empathy/sympathy for my bad day yesterday. It really helped to know I wasn't the only one those types of places like to pick on (KwikKar or any male run business that they know girls won't be knowledgeable in). I talked to my auto mechanic, whom I've known since I started driving (41, remember), and he said NEVER let them touch your car! I HIGHLY recommend getting and staying with one mechanic that you can trust for the life of your cars. Bob Parra at MidCities Service Center in Euless is the best around and just a great man in general. Anyway, thanks for all your comments to brighten my day, it really made me feel much better. So for today--something sweet and simple, like my day has been! I love days like these! Here is the birthday card I made for Shelbie, our teenager last week for her 16th birthday on the 21st (is she sweet? that's entirely debatable right now). Yes, it's a Bella!! I don't think you've ever seen me do one! Well, you're in luck too, because I've already done my card for Saturday's SFYTT for Jen and it's from Stamping Bella as well--one of the new stamps, but not a Bella girl! There's enough clues for ya! This card is pretty straightforward stamping and design, so I won't bore you with details. I did use my Clear Spica Glitter pen on her bags and top. Shelbie really liked it and has even kept it out on her dresser. Wow!!

TIP: Cover boo-boos on your cards with strategically placed embellishments. i.e. the flower here is covering a big smudge of something or other and I was not about to color her again!

Stamps: Emmybella (Stamping Bella), Sweet Thang (CHF-Kim Hughes)
Ink: Palette Noir, Baroque Burgundy
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard, DP by the Paper Studio
Other: Prima Hydrangea, Adhesive Bling, Ribbon (American Crafts), CM Corner Rounder, Prismacolor/Copic Markers, Spica Clear Glitter Pen, Dimensionals

  1. I'm so glad you're having a better day today! I totally agree with you on the mechanic thing! I can't tell you how many times that has happened to me.
Hang in there with your teenager. It does get better. I didn't think mine was gonna make it past 16, but she is now 18 and we like each other again.
I love your Bella card and can't wait to see you SFYTT card.
    Have a great day!

  2. Fabulous card--perfect for a "sweet 16" :D Love the "retro-ish" paper Sus. Hope you have a SUPER DUPER weekend--'specially after such a "poopy" day :(

  3. *grin* I am thrilled that you used sweet thang for this adorable those Bellas! :)
