An {Inspiring} Sketch For You To Try

Top o' the mornin' to ya!!! Yes, my sister Sara, of Tweaks and Designs by Sara changed my seasonal banner and put these cute shamrocks on it for a few days--St. Patrick's Day is Monday, the 17th. (she has a new service, too!! How about a cool Signature at the bottom of each of your posts?) Can you guess what banner will be up next, starting around Tuesday? As for today, it's Saturday, the 15th (Beware the Ides of March!--a little Julius Ceasar there for ya!! Sorry, that always pops in my head every March around this time, thanks to my Richland High School Honors English teacher, Mrs. Ball--gotta love her!). Does that mean it's time for another Sketch For You To Try from my friend, Jen? Why, yes. Yes, it does. To sketch, or not to sketch, that is the question. I answered by saying, 'Sure, why not'? So here's what I have to offer today along with Shannan, Carole and Amy's versions. I finally got Word Window Punch through a trade on SCS, and could not wait to try it out! I used some of my Verve Visual stamp sets (have you seen the little birdy set and the new floral and Easter sets? You MUST take a peek! I've just got to have those flowers! You can get all 3 of the new sets on sale as a bundle for $45 until March 22nd. That's the deal of the day!) I cut those stars out by hand--I forgot I had a punch for the larger one until after I was done but it wasn't too hard. I used an old stand-by color combo, as I am SOOO LOW on cardstock! It's down to the colors I never use! Now what do I do? I love the pink and green together and it looks so springy! So---to sketch or not to sketch? What's your answer? If it's yes, use SFYTT as your SCS keyword, so we don't have to look far to see your Shakespearean works!
So today starts Spring Break for us (Beware, the Ides of March!-hopefully no impending doom here!), continuing for the next nine days. Anyone have any ideas to keep a 4 year old, a 7 year old, and a 15 year old (soon to be 16 on Friday), busy and not killing each other? I myself plan to do a LOT of stamping/creating without a bunch of trips back and forth to the elementary and high schools!! Can I trade those in for trips to Hobby Lobby? Wish me luck!!

TIP: When cutting stars out, cut from the tip of the star to the inside of it on every point. In other words, don't cut around them with one in a solid line, or it will not look as good and you are likely to bend the points around.

Stamps: Polka Stars, Thoughtful Phrases (both Verve Visual)
Ink: Certainly Celery, Pixie Pink
Paper: Certainly Celery, Pixie Pink, Whisper White, DP by Luxe
Other: Doodlebug Designs Paper Frills, Polka Grosgrain Ribbon, SU Scallop Circle Punch, Word Window Punch, Paper Piercer/Mat Pack, Adhesive Rhinestones, Dimensionals

  8. Hi Susan-
I love checking your blog and seeing all of your WONDERFUL cards (love this one!) and way back when, you mentioned Lilian's blog here, so I went to visit and left a comment. Well, I had NO idea that you came to MY blog (which isn't much of a blog, I admit) and left a comment! I JUST now saw it, as I don't really keep an "active" blog, and I don't write much, just post the pics. Anyway, it was like having a celebrity visit! So cool!! You're amazing. Have a blessed Easter!
