A {Hooty} Sketch For You To Try

Hola, everyone!! I am here, I am here, I am here!!! (I really want to go see the Horton Hears a Who Movie!). This week has been super crazy around here, not to mention the crazy weather we've had, impeding my plans to get stuff done!! One day with tornado warnings, the next with 5-9 inches of snow!!! It's a wonder we aren't all sick!! The weather also held back plans that Jen and I had for Thursday to have a little queso and chips at On the Border. But in this case, I'm glad--because we get to go today and Shannan and Lesa get to join us!! Yay!! Speaking of Jen, if you have never played in her regular Saturday feature, A Sketch For You To Try, it's a non-threatening, non-comittal, non-policed, but super fun way to get your mojo going! Check it out on her blog! This week, she is giving a little candy away to a lucky participant (i forgot about that word and almost put "participator". Eric said I was starting to sound like the president, making up my own words!) Several friends of mine, Shannan, Carole (I hope she's still my friend after the MFT release party the other night), and Amy all come up with samples to show you every week, just for fun (see, non-threatening!). Also, Jen's guest designer, JoAnne Basile, has a card featured on her blog that is super cute! Although mine is very similar to Shannan's this week (I am still cracking up over it), I promise I made it last night, before ever seeing her version! Great minds think alike! So here is my card, and I think I have a crush on it! I absolutely love this one! It's a long one and it measures 8.5 by 3.75. I've had this paper for a looooooonnnggg time, and have loved it forever, but just now used it and I think it coordinates well with Mr. Hooty. His little belly was the perfect spot for a sentiment, for which I used my Papertrey sentiment set on an acrylic block for super easy positioning. So come on and play with us, and upload your artwork on Splitcoast with the keyword SFYTT! After my lunch date today, I will be working on a bunch of stuff to show you next week (this blog will be hoppin'!!), one item that I am particularly fond of for Glue Art and Paper Studio--so that means you can expect an altered project! wooOHOooOOOOO(t)!!!!

Edit: It seems when I use a fairly tall picture, the quality and size is diminished, not to mention you can't see the great texture this paper has! Remember you can click on the photo for a more up close view!

TIP: Look for ways to position your sentiment in an unusual way to add interest.
