A {Chocolate} Sketch For You To Try

Here we are, February already, can you believe it!?! Where did January go? Soon we will be dressing up for Halloween!! haha!! (My girls are already planning what they want to be this year!) Let's just take it one month, one day at a time, ok? So since it's Saturday, Jen has a Sketch For You To Try!! She is also introducing Bethany Paull as her February guest designer (hi Bethany!) and she will be doing the Sketch as well! So check out what I got for my birthday--Some new stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms! I had to have the Pretty Pattern Backgrounder (if you have a "thing" for background stamps like I do, you NEED to check them out--they have tons!). I have also loved all of Kim Hughes' stamps over there as well and picked the Hugs and Kisses Set (used here) and the Sweet Thang Set. All the images are very simple, well thought out and easy to use. I just love them!! So here's what I came up with. I didn't know if I would like this sketch or not, as I'm usually not a "bottom of the card" girl, but I have to say, if you have never tried one of Jen's sketches, this is a great one to get going on!! It came together beautifully and I love the colors I used!! So be sure and use keyword SFYTT when uploading to Splitcoast and if you need more inspiration, check out Carole and Shannan's samples! Chocolate Hugs to you!!

I still have a few stamp sets available for sale--check out the post below this one!

TIP: Color brads or picture turns (is that what they are called?) with alcohol based markers (Copic, Prismacolor, Sharpie) to change their color. It's a good idea to have white or off-white metal embellishments on hand for this very reason!

BONUS TIP: Rather than have a solid "line" of Stickles, spread them around with a popsicle stick or similar tool to "fade into" your image.

Stamps: Hugs and Kisses, Pretty Pattern Backgrounder (both Cornish Heritage Farms)
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Real Red
Paper: Close to Cocoa, Real Red, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Other: Prismacolor Pencils, White Gel Pen, Red Brads, Picture turn, White Brad, Polkadot Ribbon from May Arts, Brown Organdy Ribbon from JoAnns, Cinnamon Stickles, Dimensionals
