Layout Challenge for smARTworks!

Here is this week's edition of the smARTworks Tea Party Layout Challenge. I think I have mentioned it before, that each DT member gets a "round" in coming up with the sketch challenge every other week. This time it was my turn! I have to admit I totally nabbed this sketch from a papercrafting magazine just because I loved the look of the wave going on across the card (btw, the sketch is supposed to have a line going across the bottom for the bottom of the did that happen?). However, I think next time, I need to either make my main panel smaller or the overall card size bigger to fully appreciate "the wave"!! Again, the set from smARTworks I used is called Kings (p.52) and has 2 fun crowns to play with and a sentiment stamp which I didn't have room for on my card this time. I thought this card would be great to send to someone to say, "You Rule"!!! Or something along the lines of "It's great being a Princess"! (I would know!) I also used another smARTworks stamp on here. Can you see it? It's a background stamp called Marble (p.9 and it's only 6.50!)--it actually does cover the entire piece of Chocolate Chip--what is up with this crummy picture? I LOVE the distressed look it gave, as I went over and over it without reinking using Tim Holtz' (what a cutie) distress ink in Walnut Stain. I also lenghwise swiped Chocolate Chip along the edges of the Close to Cocoa crown panel for a neat touch. There is so much here you can't even see in the picture: rhinestones on the crown, stardust glitter pen touches everywhere, too. It's really cool looking up close and personal. Anyway, play with this sketch if you want--it's super easy peasy! I'd love to see YOUR versions! If you haven't visited them already, check out the other smART cookie blogs to see what they came up with--awesomeness!! Susan T., Dina, Donna, Trish and Heidi.

  1. Wow, Susan, take about awesomeness! Each and every last detail you put into this card is great...I especially like the bit of paper piercing at the bottom. You rule!

  2. Love it Susan! You are rocking those crowns!

  3. OOHH!! I like this! I saw Trish's and happy cam across yours too. So nice. I am glad you are going to try the MFT digital papers. i was really satified with how they look and the fact that you can download them into jpg format was great for me.
