Things That Go Bump in the Night!
Is this not the cutest Halloween image ever? Jen del Muro (iheart2stamp) sent out a little Halloween image challenge to a few of us stampers to try if we wanted to. What? How could I NOT want to play with this adorable image? It's a Penny Black stamp and she found it at Eclectic Paperie . It was very fun to color! I used my prismacolor markers and even managed to use the colorless blender marker on the kitty and bird to try and "shade" it. That was a feat--I'm still learning. (For an up close and personal view, always remember that you can click on the image for more detail.) I am also learning how to use my new All in a Row--can't you tell? Ugh. A few messups there. Anyway, it follows Beate's fun little file folder tutorial she had on her blog a coupledaysago. (Audrie, my almost 4 year old makes that all one word, why can't I?). I managed to mess it up, too and didn't do one of the cuts right for the tabby part. I then used my Papertrey Spooky Sweets set for the fun oval sentiment in it's place (love those stamps!). Finally, I thought the little ghosty paper clip by the Paper Studio made a good save regardless of my mistakes and I ended up really liking the end result. The folder is so cute and smaller than I thought it would be. I did not do an insert for it. Didn't want to take that chance and mess it up even more! You may see more of these little Halloween critters on all your favorite blogs, but if you don't, Jen will be posting all the links on her blog in a coupledays--teehee! (Unless I was the only one who took the bait! Hmmm.....) I have something else fun and exciting to share soon...stay tuned!
