The End of the Road

Shelbie is back safe and sound!! She called us Thursday night, scared, out of money and tired. The brakes had gone out on our Neon car that she had taken and it was undriveable(Thank God for that awesome plan!). So we left at 9pm that night for San Antonio, which is about 5 hours away. We got there around 130am with his parents as well and put an end to their little adventure. We spent the night there and had the car fixed the next day and finally got back in town last night around 830pm. Although there will be severe consequences that she will have to endure, we are so very thankful that she was not hurt and that she is back with us. Eric and I would just love to hug each and every one of ya'll's necks for all the well wishes and encouragement you have given us. It means more than you will ever know. God bless you!!
P.S. I *thought* I was going to get Jen's sketch done, but I just did not have the energy to still do it after we got home. I am still ready to tackle it because it's a super fun sketch, but it may have to be later in the week before it gets done and posted. It's a real cute sketch! Be sure and check it out here!! It's really awesome and reminds me of the old Batman TV shows with the "POW"! "BAM"! little word blurby thingys!! Ok, showing my age there a little!! I can't wait to get back in the swing of stamping and posting my fun stuff for ya'll!! Stay tuned......

  1. Oh what a relief, Susan!!! You know, I just can't even imagine what an emotional roller coaster you've been on, and though the ride continues so long as we're breathing and still parents, I hope the drops and loop-de-loops are much tamer from here on out for ya. (Okay, that analogy just wore me out! : ) )

    Love the Batman reference -- I used to love that show! Guess we're both showing our age now! Enjoy your day and know that we're all breathing a big sigh with you. {{{Susan}}}

  4. I ran away when I was 16, mostly because my best friend wanted to (she was pregnant) I was gone three days and scared some people but it had a profound affect on my life. I left some people behind and started making very wise decisions about my life. I dont regret running away-it made me grow up some. Which I needed to do. I also found out who was and was not best in my life then and forever. Sometimes we do things that scare us into that. Hopefully, Shelbie will see a light too.

  7. So glad to hear that she is back safe and sound. Hopefully this opened her eyes to how much she loves and needs her family. Plus, teenagers are just wired different and sometimes the aftermath is the last thing on their minds at the time. I'll be thinking of you!
