Back to the Regularly Scheduled Programming....

Well, because of all the turmoil, I have yet to upload all of the Royal Princess Tea Party Birthday party pictures. In fact, I just dropped off the roll of regular film pictures at Sam's this morning and should have them back by Thursday (yes, I'm cheap--not only do I have them done at Sam's, but I also don't usually do the 1 hour unless I am on my way to a crop or retreat!). So here is just a little sneak peak of one of the delicacies I made for the kids to eat at the party. They are the ever-so-fancy-Peanut Butter and Jelly with sprinkles sandwiches!!! A friend of mine had told me about putting the sprinkles on them (I just spread a little extra peanut butter on the edge and dipped them in the sprinkles), and I got the idea to wrap them with paper from a kid's party idea magazine from Martha Stewart. They looked so cute all standing up on a cake plate in coordinating papers (most by American Crafts--LOVE their paper!). What do you think? Royalty emotes from them, right? Here's a little something I had almost forgotten about showing you, too! (I'm still trying to get everything lined up that I haven't had a chance to show you...there's MUCHO!--I'm even thinking of writing up several posts and just hit the "publish" button once a day until I get caught up, but that will take some time!) This is a little Sketch Book I have wanted to make for myself for quite some time. Only problem was that I never found the "perfect" book!! It had to be the right size with a fair amount of pages (no lines) and bookbound, not spiral. I happened to run across these at Hobbly Lobbly a few weeks ago and heard the angels sing when I saw them!! Only 3.00 or something like that! I then found the cute paper and that neat little Craft List embellishment card and stuck it on the front. I distressed all the edges in More Mustard. It is perfect for what I wanted!! Feel free to make one too, to keep all those sketch, color and idea design notes in!! Crafty organization that YOU made possible! Instead of "strokes of genius", you have "sketches of genius"!

Book: Hobby Lobby with the fine arts sketch pads and stuff
Ink: Palette Noir, So Saffron, StazOn Timber Brown
Stamps: Karen Foster Snap Stamps 1/4" on front and 1/8" on tabs
Paper: Well, now I can't remember, but some Basic Grey will match up perfectly
Other: Heidi Swapp Crimson Flower, MM Brad (distressed with the StazOn to make it look a little older, like me), the little Craft Project card, Brown Satin Ribbon, File Tab Punch, Mod Podge

  1. What a cute idea for those sandwiches, Susan! I stared at them for a few minutes trying to figure it out (since I usually only look at the pictures and am too lazy to read) lol.
I also love your book! Hope you're doing great!

  2. I looove the pb sandwich! My kids would loooove it! I will have to use this idea one day!!! I love your blog by the way...

  3. I love the sketches of genius book. Perfect for you. (Here I thought it was the music Hobby Lobby plays, but I guess it COULD be angels. Often times I sing along. ;) Just to scare people out of the clearance aisle so I could have it all to myself.)
