Chicken Soup for the Soul
A few days ago, my new friend, Sharon Harnist of Paperfections posted this recipe for Chicken and Wild Rice Soup. Well, I just happened to have some chicken tenders (they worked just as good), carrots, celery, broth (low sodium) and a sick friend. So I went to the store for the other parts I lacked and off I went, making this soup. OH MAN, you have to try it--can you say YUM-O?? Anyway, while making the soup and watching said friend's 2 year old daughter for her, I came up with the idea to put it in this Mason jar, decorate it and make a cute tag, so that's just what I did! I had gone to Recollections the day before and fell in love with this cute double sided paper by Imaginisce and I thought it went perfectly with the home-cookin' look I was striving for. I am so in love with it, that I went back to Recollections today for some more (I used it for a couple of cards, too, which I will show you at a later date), but they were OUT of it already!!! If you see some, pick it up for me, would ya? Anyway, I borrowed the Under the Weather set from my mom (she has WAY more sets than I do) and used a metal rimmed tag she had lying around as well. Punched the circle with my Giga Scallop punch and pierced the scallops. For the words (handwritten), I used my CM cutting system circles and penciled two concentric circles (a big word, I know) around the outer edge as a guide for the writing. Wrote "feel better" in all the o'clock positions (12,3,6,9) and then added the large heart eyelets. After coloring the soup with my Prismacolor markers, I popped the tag up on dimensionals and stuck it to the red piece--easy and done! Tied it around the neck of the jar (after putting the soup in--that was messy as I didn't have a widemouth jar!), and by that time, it was time to take my little charge for the day back to her sick momma. She couldn't believe what I had done for her and she said she is never going to get rid of the jar! How she is going to clean it is the question I have. Didn't think that far in advance. Sorry, friend. I was just worried she would think I neglected her daughter while I was so busy making all that stuff. Nope, I even remembered to feed her some lunch!! I will show you the cards I made with the rest of that paper in the next few days...I have SO much to show you!!
