I'm Here {Barely}

I know it's been a whole week since I last posted and I thank all of you for the sweet comments on my "Sweet Pea" card! Life is going crazy over here, but I have not forgotten about you all! Father's Day night, we had a humongous rainstorm and water got in I'd say 90% of our house, 2-3 inches high. I know that's nothing compared to the other devastation that has been associated with all the rain and flooding everywhere, so we consider ourselves lucky to still have a home. However, the damage to our flooring (Pergo--it's starting to warp and bubble) and carpet is terrible! Not to mention the STINKO factor of the mildew setting in!! This has not been our year! Starting in March, we have had a slew of events take place and we cannot take another blow!

1. The Neon (one of our cars) got hit by the teenager across the street.
2. We got 2 tickets for it being out of inspection while trying to take care of that damage.
3. My Expedition broke down the same weekend. Repairs to both cars totaled 3500.00.
4. The night before Easter some kids shot out the window of the Neon with a beebee gun. (we live in Texas, can you tell?) Cost us another 50.00
5. My washing machine broke and had to be replaced.
6. The washing machine that was delivered had been dropped by Maytag, so a new one was ordered, as it never worked properly from day 1.
7. The second washing machine was dropped worse than the first one.
8. Saturday, I finally got a new washing machine that works (third time's the charm, right?).
9. Our lawnmower broke down and we had to replace it with another used one.
10. I had a flat tire last week and ended up having to replace 2 tires.
11. Father's Day night, the house floods.

Can we say enough is enough? What is God trying to teach us, here? If anyone has a clue or has had this much happen to them in the span of 3 months, please let me know what the light looked like at the end of the tunnel!!

So right now, my craft area (which the water spared most of, thank goodness!) is a disaster, since I had to take everything up off the floor. I hope to be back to crafting soon, so I can share something happy!!! We saw the flood, but no rainbow, but we are hoping that this was God's sign that there shall be no more turmoil for a while anyway!! Please send happy thoughts our way!! I miss "talking" and sharing with ya'll!

  1. OMGoodness! You have had quite the happenings in three months! (((HUGS))) I think just one of those things on your list might be enough to send me (and our budget) over the edge! The light at theend of this tunnell is coming... here's hoping it's soon!

  2. Trust me, it does get better! Not by much, but there is light at the end of the tunnel-at least that's what I keep telling myself! I've learned, in the last year or so, to take what comes gracefully and calmly, to do what I can and if something is out of my control, then so be it. We've had three job changes, a job loss, the death of a parent, a move and the illness of two parents to deal with on top of the usual day-to-day stuff, including an eye problem that gets worse if I have stress!
    Take time to laugh and to stamp!

  5. GEEEEZZZ...that is more than enough...He never gives us more than we can handle, right? Sometimes I think He gives me more than I can really handle...enough that I have to turn to Him!! (I just read the post before and she said the same thing...started writing mine before I read them :))
    OK....he is a Scripture I have been memorizing since we moved and now are paying for two mortgages....John 14:1...Do not let your hearts ne troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.
    HUGS,
    Alexis

  6. My goodness girl! You've had more than your share, I'd say! It certainly does make you wonder why God sent all those trials & tests your way. You'll just have to ask when you get there! Just focus on your problems thru Christ, not Christ thru your problems! He has promised to walk with us thru whatever comes along & He is faithful to keep His promises!

  7. oh Susie! My heart goes out to you; I know what a lot of trials in a short time feels like! last year in a few months DH's car window was broken in the middle of the night, there was a shooting across the street at the elementary school (no one was hurt) then DH had a pretty bad car accident (someone else's fault that was not resolved for 9 months!) and we were grateful he was not hurt more! Then our house was broken into the next month (water hose left on, so I know how the flooding feels) & for the next 8 months we were dealing with repairs, getting the house ready to sell (we needed OUT of that neighboorhood) and trying to figure out what to do with our future. God answers prayer because we got through it all (it was not easy) but we had support & each other & our health (and our fur babies). It seems most during the times you can't take more, you can sit back & thank God for the small blessings because believe you me - there are worse things that can happen! I hope everything irons out real soon & you look upon this time in a different light than you are now!!! {{HUGS}}

  10. I listen to a pastor once who said "A time in your life where everything is going wrong can only mean one thing an enormous blessing is about to come your way, so hold on tight while the storm lasts it teaches you how to pray, and thank God now for the blessing you are about to recieve"...

  11. Susie...just gotta tell ya that I heard a song on the radio this morning (one of my faves) called "Bring the Rain"...better yet, "Jesus, Bring the Rain". I'm sure you've heard it. It's talks about anything that gives God praise and glory, "bring it on". If it's joy in our life or pain...if that's what it takes to give Him praise, that's what I want in my life. Hard times are inevitable for anybody--Christians are not excluded, but I really think about the bigger picture and why we are here. One of the most important answers to the question, "Why am I here" or "Why are WE here" is to bring God glory in all that we do. Maybe God allows it to rain on us is so we can let our life shine and be an example to others. Just thinking of ya today Sus, it could be a lot worse! :) Love and Hugs to ya!!

  12. You and your family are in my prayers , Suze. Just remember that God promises not to put more on us than we can handle and that we must let Him take charge.
    May God Send an Angel to Watch Over You and Yours

  15. Poor thing! It will get better. It has to! I have a friend who has been going through, what seems like one thing after another, as well, and I keep telling her the same thing. God will only give you what you can handle, so that must mean you're a very strong person, right!? I'll be praying for you and your family. Hugs to you!

  18. OH SUSIE.... I'm so sorry to hear about your recent troubles. We've had a lot of rain here in the Hill Country, but nothing like what y'all have had. Keep your head up and your spirits higher.
