Getting My Groove On

Do you ever have those days where you just feel like the faster you go, the slower you are? Or those days that are two steps forward and one step back? When no matter what you do, you just can't get ahead of the game? Well, that's been me for the last whole week!! I just can't seem to get in a good groove and I have been feeling very "discombobulated" (raise your hand if you know that word)! It's been compounded by the fact that my allergies are BAD this year and for a few days, I had to take some generic Claritin-D (so NOT the same) and I felt so loopy I couldn't get my act together at all! So then, I got (and still am) so behind with what I needed to get done, that (once again) I did nothing! Well, I did stuff, just not what I should have been doing. So here is a result of me slacking off!! I played in last week's sketch challenge on scs (SC124) and came up with this. (where was I? I just had to get up and unstick bubblegum from my child's fingers and hair and countertop--see what I mean?) Oh, so I wanted to use bright colors and thought the little ladybug from Very Punny would be great. I markered her in and gave her a little shadowing with my "wonder-under" crayons around her outside edge, but you can't see that very well. I really like how it turned out and it was definitely out of my comfort zone as far as color and layout! So then it got really late (like 1 am) and I did this card, very quickly (can't you tell?). I am selling the set I used, Say it Simply, and so I thought I would use it one last time. I used True Thyme for the base, accented with Cranberry and the patterned paper is just some Basic Grey I had leftover from another project. Don't you just love that yummy ribbon? It was a scrap, too. So, I guess someone will be getting this random Christmas card this year! Well, I'm off to get down to business with my list of stuff to do since I finally feel like my head is attached back to my body again! Only 2 more days until all the kids are out of school and who knows what my days will look like then!! I can hear it already, "Mommy, I'm bored"!.....Calgon, take me away!!

  2. LOL - only because you sound like me (raising my hand because I know that word...and it's synonym, discombooberated!). I tend to make brighter cards with sharper color contrasts when I'm a little stressed, so I'm feeling your ladybug card.
