Last Friday's Storms are Now Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Just sharing some pictures of the hail we received last Friday (the 13th, but who cares!) in the midst of that terrible storm. We were lucky to only get this. We are just a few miles down the road from Haltom City where the worst of the damage occurred from the tornado(s) that touched down several times. I saw the clouds just getting darker and darker in that direction and actually saw some "lowering" (don't you love my meteorological terminology?) of the clouds forming the tornado. Scary stuff! After it had passed us, we surveyed the damage (little to none for us) and stepped out in the back yard. Our back yard backs up to a recreation center and soccer fields (I love not having people directly behind us!), so it's big and open. To our amazement, we could see ALL of this HUGE rainbow, from beginning to end! And at times it was double!! How many times have you seen a full double rainbow? It was gorgeous and these little digital pictures don't do it justice. I can't wait to get back my 35mm photos I tried to take. If they turn out any better, I will have to post them.
God's reminder from Genesis 9:13-15 (NIV): 'I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.'
Gotta love it.
